Intro to Light

In class today I learned about backlight and how it affects the subject. Backlight can reduce contrast between the subject and the background to make it softer. I also learned about fill light which is light used to fill shadows to make the light a little more even. Something else I learned in class is that the closer your subject is to the wall or background, the more the shadow shows up, and the farther the subject is from the background the less shadow there is. Another thing that I learned is feathering the light which is barely putting the light on the side. I also learned that you dont want the subject to be square on to the camera.
